INTRA-AMNIOTIC instillation of hypertonic saline solution has been heralded as a simple and effective means of producing abortion during the mid-trimester of pregnancy.1 2 3 In the following case acute renal failure was associated with this procedure.Case ReportA 31-year-old woman in the 26th week of pregnancy was admitted to the Washington Hospital Center for therapeutic abortion because of psychiatric considerations.
