Abstract
Different representation of the results of trace element analyses in dust samples may lead to different conclusions. The distributions of trace elements in indoor and outdoor dusts are reviewed and comparisons drawn between implications of elemental loading and elemental level. Some problems in the representativeness of data from dust analyses are raised. Keywords
