Abstract
The chief crystalline bases of Heliotropium europaeum L. are heliotrine and lasiocarpine. Three other bases are present, one in major amount, as also are the N-oxides of all five alkaloids. A method of assay has been developed, based on partition chromatography, which permits the estimation of each of the 10 constituents in plant material. Keywords
