Estimation of Parameters in Compound Weibull Distributions

Abstract
The two-parameter Weibull distribution has been recognized as a useful model for survival populations associated with reliability studies and life testing experiments. In the analysis of atmospheric data, the distributions encountered are often a result of combining two or more component distributions. These compound distributions are consequently of interest to aerospace scientists. Presented is a method for estimation of the parameters of a compound Weibull distribution with two shape parameters, two scale parameters and a proportionality factor.
