Abstract
The study of the fossil and recent mammals and the turtles, to which this paper is specially devoted, of South and North America indicates the origin of the faunas and the paleogeographic conditions prevailing in South America. The continental Americas are divided into five zones from a zoogeographic viewpoint, Boreal North America, Middle North America, Southern North America (Central America and Mexico), Equatorial South America, and Austral South America. These five zones have fluctuated back and forth during Cenozoic history. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
