Abstract
A magnetic structure consisting of two ferromagnetic cores and three windings is shown to behave as a quasi-linear electronically controllable inductor. Together with the controllable resistor and capacitor it constitutes a complete set of components with electronically variable fundamental electrical properties: resistance, capacitance, and inductance. In contrast to the other two components, the power-handling capability of a controllable inductor is not limited a priori. Because of this, the spectrum of its potential applications is extremely wide. Keywords
