Abstract
Retirement travel is a pleasant prospect to those still in the work force and an earnest desire of those beyond it. The experiences of a 1.3% sample of the retired people in San Antonio suggest that, for most, trips are infrequent and travel conditions far from ideal. The narrowing of transportation options in this country and the increasing complexity and pressure for speed in those systems which remain may further limit the incidence and the satisfaction of retirement-leisure trips in the future. Keywords
