Abstract
The activation of alkynes HCCR with cis-[RuCl2(Ph2PCH2PPh2)2]1 leads to vinylidenes trans-[(Ph2PCH2PPh2)2(Cl)Ru+ CCHR], even directly from acetylene itself (R = H) or prop-2-ynyl alcohol, from which the Ru+ CCH(CH2OH) moiety is resistant to dehydration, and deprotonation with 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) directly affords trans-[(Ph2PCH2PPh2)2(Cl)Ru–CC–R] derivatives. Keywords
