Abstract
Rhythmical pulsations were observed in the isolated scale melanophores of F. heteroclitus immersed in N/10 KCl of a certain p H if such melanophores had been first subjected to N/10 KC1 of a higher p H. Pulsations were also observed in scale melanophores immersed in N/10 NaCl of a relatively high p H, providing such solutions were buffered with the potassium phosphate buffers. It was also found that rhythmical pulsations could be produced by first subjecting the scale melanophores to either N/10 SrCl2. or to M/5 dextrose and then transferring them to N/10 NaCl, where the pulsations occurred. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
