ESTIMATION OF XANTHOTOXIN, IMPERATORIN AND BERGAPTEN INAMMI MAJUSFRUITS AND FORMULATIONS

Abstract
Es wird ein dünnschicht–chromatographisches Verfahren zur quantitativen Bestimmung von Xanthotoxin, Imperatorin und Bergapten in den Früchten von Ammi tnajus beschrieben. Die drei Stoffe wurden in der genannten Reihenfolge in folgender Menge gefunden: 1–1,5 %, 0,71–0,8 %, 0,25–0,31 %. A TLC–spectrophotometric method is proposed to assay xanthotoxin, imperatorin and bergapten in Ammi majus fruits. The method is based on the quantitative elution of the constituents from a silica gel G plate and are then estimated spectrophotometrically. The fruits yielded 1–1.5 % xanthotoxin, 0.71–0.8 % imperatorin and 0.25–0.31 % bergapten. The method was successfully applied to estimate the constituents in formulations.
