Abstract
Management to minimise pavement problems caused by existing tree roots includes water management, soil aeration, root pruning, redesigning structures near trees and tree removal. Avoiding future pavement problems caused by tree roots will necessitate soil modification, plant selection, redesigning fixed structures near trees and considering open-ended containers to direct roots downwards. Keywords
