Abstract
The electrolytic method for reducing salicyclic acid to salicylaldehyde has been reinvestigated, and the apparatus and procedure recommended by Tesh and Lowy has been used as a standard with which to compare new evidence. Sodium bisulfite was used for fixation of the aldehyde and a 15°–18°C reaction temperature was maintained. Keywords
