Abstract
In this paper the authors attempted to review the major aspects of the current knowledge of the physiology, pharmacology and clinical use of heparin. Although many undesirable toxic effects of heparin were cited, it is important to recognize that these are minor and that the therapeutic and prophylactic efficacy of heparin in the management of patients with venous thromboembolic disease remains unchallanged. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
