Linear deformations of the Prasad-Sommerfield monopole

Abstract
The Bogomolny equation for linear perturbations of the Prasad-Sommerfield monopole is solved exactly. Explicit expressions for all the normalizable and unnormalizable nongauge modes are obtained, and previous results of Mottola on the normalizable modes are confirmed. A new choice of gauge facilitates the solution. Open questions and possible applications are mentioned.Keywords
