Nesting and Other Habits of the Bolivian Blackbird (Oreopsar bolivianus)

Abstract
O. bolivianus was found only in dry intermountain valleys in canyons with steep cliffs, living in small flocks in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Each flock appeared to occupy an exclusive area. The nest and eggs were described. The nest was rectangular in outline and molded to the shape of the crevice. It was built of tough fibers, mostly fine roots. An incubating bird begged and was regularly fed by other members of the flock. Food consisted of insects, grasses, and fruit of Cereus sp. Nine vocalizations and 5 postures were described.
