Abstract
We report on the reliability of state-of-the-art integrated dynamic polymeric photonic components developed for the telecommunications market. Tests conducted include full Telcordia GR-1209-CORE/GR-1221-CORE qualification, as well as accelerated aging tests that significantly exceed Telcordia requirements, such as aging at extreme temperature (5000 hours at 175°C) and optical power (6000 hours at 1.5 W of 1550 nm light). The types of components we describe include variable optical attenuator arrays, intelligent optical cross-connects, and fully reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers. Keywords
