NEW BONE FORMATION AND CARPAL SYNOSTOSIS IN SCLERODERMA

Abstract
A case of scleroderma is reported in which there was evidence of rather marked periosteal new bone formation at the diaphyses of both humeri and femora. The somewhat similiar findings in polyarteritis nodosa are pointed out and a possible connection with peripheral arterial insufficiency is briefly discussed. The patient also had complete carpal synostosis in both hands.
