Abstract
An elevated ratio of nonessential to essential amino acids was well correlated with a condition of protein-calorie malnutrition. All of the children studied were clinically malnourished, but that over half of the children with rather mild symptoms showed considerable increase in the ratio suggests that the method may prove of value in assessing the nutritional status of children without obvious signs of deficiency. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
