Abstract
Starting with the 1973/74 school year, schoolchildren throughout the country will have completed their elementary school education studying under the new syllabuses. In this regard the question arises: What system of methods should be used for teaching fifth-graders who have studied the materials of the new syllabus in the preceding grades? Should a traditional pedagogy continue in use, or should we seek new approaches, take up and carry on the new methods developed for primary level education?
