Abstract
Kelley, et al.'s (1972) policemen's attitudes toward citizenry scale was administered to 75 employees of a midwestern police force. Factor structure of the questionnaire was generally consistent with the Kelly, et al. conceptualization. Three of the four subscales (Policemen's View of Citizens' Support, General Faith in People, and Police Defensive Posture) were significantly related to an index of General Positive Orientation Toward the Job. Significant but small correlations of the subscales with demographic measures and other individual-difference indices were also isolated. Implications of the findings and suggested directions for future research are presented. Keywords
