Abstract
The angle of emission of the Čerenkov radiation is used to find the velocity of a beam of protons. Their range is also measured and we obtain points of the range energy relation for energies near 340 Mev for Be, C, Al, Cu, Sn, and Pb. The data are used to evaluate the average excitation energy for these substances.
