Abstract
One of the critical issues in the development of the hyperspectral imaging system VIFIS is that of the radiometric calibration of the instrument. As the result of this research, the spectral and radiometric performance of the VIFIS system are analysed, the methodology of ground spectral and radiometric calibration are described and the calibration results on a pixel by pixel basis are presented. In order to evaluate the calibration accuracy, a standard source with known radiance distribution is introduced and the corrected output from VIFIS is compared with this standard, hence giving the calibration accuracy over the whole spectral range. Finally, an image correction example is provided, as a demonstration of the application of this radiometric calibration.
