Dustfall as a Source of Water Quality Impairment

Abstract
An investigation was made of dustfall during the months of June, July, and August, 1964, in Seattle, Wash., and surrounding areas to determine the possible effects of dustfall on reservoir water quality. Several components of dustfall were measured at 46 stations located within Seattle and its suburbs. The methods of sampling and analysis are described. The dustfall rates and their significance in terms of water quality, source, and meteorological factors are examined.
