Solidification of Neutron Matter

Abstract
A -matrix calculation of the ground-state energy of cold neutron matter has been performed and it is shown that neutron matter solidifies at a density of the order of 1.6 × g/, thus implying the existence of a solid core inside heavy neutron stars.
