Abstract
A method is described by which libraries of precalculated isodose distributions of general usefulness in isocentric cobalt-60 therapy can be produced. Single-field isodose patterns are digitized as polar matrices, which form the input data for an IBM 7040 computer program. Center-normalized multi-field or rotational distributions are produced by the computer in the form of digital matrices. A semi-automatic polar isodose plotter is used to produce the initial isodose patterns and an automatic punch-card reader and point plotter gives the resulting distributions in graphic form.
