Abstract
Wind-driven circulations in the southwest Baltic are analyzed with reference to the combined effects of topography and stratification. Numerical results from a multi-layer nested model are compared with observations taken during the spring of 1975. It appears that the bathymetry and stratification of the southwest Baltic lead to substantial coupling of topographic and baroclinic effects. DOI: 10.1111/j.2153-3490.1978.tb00842.xKeywords
