Abstract
A new method of characteristic line selection that allows mathematical correction procedures to be extended to portable radioisotope analysers is presented and examined. The method uses half the number of X‐ray filters used in the balanced filter method when applied to multi‐component samples. Several variants of this method are shown examined, each of them exhibiting a better accracy and a shorter time of analysis than the original filter method. Keywords
