A METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF PULMONARY VENOUS AND ARTERIAL PRESSURES FROM THE ROUTINE CHEST ROENTGENOGRAM

Abstract
A simplified method for estimating pulmonary venous and arterial pressures utilizing a step-by-step approach to the assessment of post-capillary and pre-capillary components is presented. The correlation with cardiac catheterization values is remarkably good. Pulmonary disease and increased total pulmonary blood flow are the major sources of inaccurate estimations.
