Abstract
Ultrasonic absorption properties are reported for a series of amine + water mixtures. The amines are dimethylamine, ethylamine, ethanolamine, ethylenediamine, trimethylamine, n-propylamine, isopropylamine, 1-amino-2-hydroxypropane, 1,3-diaminopropane, diethanolamine, n-butylamine, isobutylamine, sec-butylamine, t-butylamine, di-n-propylamine and triethylamine. The intensities of the absorptions are examined with reference to the structures of the amines. Derived relaxation frequencies are compared with those obtained for diethylamine + water and alcohol + water mixtures.Keywords
