Abstract
This paper is written to present test data confirming the accuracy of the reverse-rotation test for stray-load loss24 in polyphase induction motors. This method is the most convenient yet proposed for direct measurement of stray-load losses in squirrelcage motors, and it is recommended that it be included in the AIEE Test Code for Polyphase Induction Machines.27 Proposals for this revision are made. Keywords
