Abstract
Based on the study of a child suffering from multiple myoblastomyomata, the author has been able to define from clinical and histological examination the origin and classification of these tumors. A mesenchymal origin seems the most probable though it has not been possible to find a relationship between the tumor cells and the autonomic nervous system because silver staining has not shown evidence of the presence of the vegetative nervous system in the tumours. Concerning the classification of these tumors, it is suggested that they are primarily benign neoplasms evolving into malignant degeneration in some extremely rare cases.
