Abstract
A measurement has been made for the first time of the relaxation time of the superconducting order parameter and the equilibrium energy gap close to T c. The results indicate that the relaxation time of the magnitude of the order parameter diverges as 1δ eq for T/T c greater than or equal to 0.99, in agreement with theory. The inelastic collision time for electrons determined from this experiment is consistent with surface-Landau-level-resonance experiments and theory.
