Abstract
A colorimetric method for the measurement of hyaluronic acid is reported in which the acid polysaccharide is precipitated at pH 3.8 with sheep hemoglobin. Addition of alkali and Na cyanide results in the formation of a colored compound which is probably ferriheme cyanide. Color intensity is detd. photoelectrically at 550 m[mu]. and is proportional to polysaccharide concn. over a range of 0.1 to 0.5 mg.Keywords
