Abstract
The pulse shape of the cylindrical ultrasonic pressure waves generated by transient laser irradiation in a weakly absorbing liquid is calculated for Green’s function formalism. The calculated results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental pulse shapes measured using a thin transducer. The pressure pulse shape is shown to be affected by the relaxation time of the absorbed energy. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
