Immobilization of the Knee Joint in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis and symmetrically involved knee joints, were treated in plaster splints. One knee of each pair was immobilized completely for 4 wks., and the plaster on the other knee was split after 3 days so that daily assisted movements could be performed. There was no significant difference between the mobility of the two knees at the end of the trial period.
