Neoplasms of the Liver Following Injection of Thorotrast

Abstract
The authors direct attention to hepatic neoplasms following injection of thorium dioxide, and resport the 8th such instance of hemangioendothelioma of this organ in the literature. Following a latent period, the possibility of occurrence of such a tumor should not be overlooked. In light of the rather widespread use of thorotrast during the 1930''s and 1940''s, and the known prolonged latent period, the incidence of this tumor may be expected to rise during the next few years.
