Absorption, Metabolism and Excretion of Drugs in Geriatric Subjects

Abstract
The data leading to the recognition that geriatric subjects may differ in their ability to absorb, metabolize and excrete drugs, when compared with younger adults, is reviewed. The effect of these differences upon the pharmacological activities of a number of drugs upon experimental animals is described. Finally, the possible implications of these results on the clinical use of drugs in the elderly is discussed.
