Abstract
Narrow band, large dynamic range, polarisation independent spectral resonances of long-period fibre gratings fabricated period-by-period with focused CO2 laser pulses are demonstrated at 1490 and 1538 nm. The observed cladding mode near field patterns in this wavelength range are presented. Keywords
