Nuclear Spins ofI128andI130

The nuclear spins of ${\mathrm{I}}^{128}$ and ${\mathrm{I}}^{130}$ have been measured by means of an atomic beam magnetic resonance apparatus. A value of 1 was obtained for ${\mathrm{I}}^{128}$, as predicted by Benczer et al. However, a value of 5 was obtained for ${\mathrm{I}}^{130}$, in disagreement with the expectations of Caird and Mitchell. The nature of the discrepancy is indicated.
