Abstract
A method is described for determining quantitatively that portion of a chemically modified cotton which is insoluble in cuprammonium hydroxide solution. The samples were treated with cuprammonium hydroxide, then with ammonium hydroxide, followed in each instance by centrifuging and decanting. A filter aid was used to assist in bring ing about separation of the insoluble material and glucose was added to inhibit decom position. Keywords
