Abstract
Summary: Intrauterine contraceptive devices were examined after removal from the uterus. The surfaces of the devices were roughened by a deposit consisting of mucopolysaccharide and calcium salts. The degree of roughness had no relationship to the menorrhagia of which some patients complained. Keywords
