Urethrorectal Fistulas Complicated by Posterior Urethral Stricture: An Appraisal of Management by Transpubic Approach

Abstract
Seven cases of difficult urethrorectal fistulas complicated by posterior urethral stricture following accidental trauma were repaired successfully by a transpubic approach. This method makes urethroplasty of complex posterior urethral stricture, closure of urethrorectal fistulas and an omental interposition possible. This approach was considered after a review of all techniques described to treat the urethrorectal fistulas.
