Ventricular function following experimental coronary artery bypass grafting: the relationship of functional improvement to haemodynamics in the graft

Abstract
The effects of myocardial revascularization were studied acutely in 13 dogs with chronic coronary artery occlusion. In nine animals an improvement in ventricular function was demonstrated following revascularization. Functional improvement was generally associated with high flow through the graft and low collateral flow.
