Abstract
Digital optical signal regeneration with a SILC-BLD markedly improves the bit error rate of degraded optical signals. The extinction improved from 3 dB to 17 dB and intensity fluctuation was suppressed from 3 dB to 0 dB. This diode can not only regenerate the signal but also converts the signal wavelength at the same time without wavelength filters or isolators.<>Keywords
