A simple, useful analytical form of the static electron gas dielectric function

Abstract
It is pointed out that there exists a simple formula for the static electron gas dielectric function, incorporating exchange and correlation effects, which generates calculated physical properties with surprisingly good precision and which has a very good formal justification.Keywords
