Abstract
A series of 4-piperidylbenzimidazolinones was synthesized. Selective syntheses of erythro and threo isomers of .alpha.-alkyl phenylethanolamines were investigated. Most members of the series had antihypertensive effects with 1-[2-hydroxy-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-methylethyl]-4-(1,3-dihydro-2H-benzimidazol-2-one-1-yl) piperidine and 1-[2-hydroxy-2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)- 1-methylethyl]-4-(1,3-dihydro-2H-benzimidazol-2-one-1-yl)piperidine (threo isomers) having the strongest hypotensive activities when administered orally in rats. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
