Abstract
A simple method for the preparation of aspirated bone-marrow particles for smears and histologic sections is described. The principle of the technic is to concentrate the bone-marrow particles by separating them from the peripheral blood. This is accomplished by ejecting the aspirate, before it clots, onto a slanted slide and into a formaldehyde solution. The latter is rapidly filtered and the residue is processed by routine histologic technics. No special equipment or anticoagulants are required. The resulting histologic preparations provide a greater concentration of particles than sections of clotted marrow and show more cytologic detail than slides from bone marrow obtained by needle biopsy. Smears are prepared from particles sticking to the slanted slide after the peripheral blood has run down. Keywords
