Abstract
Reflex dystrophy in its different forms is an uncommon, but not rare, complication of trauma or surgery. Response to physiotherapy and routine analgesic drugs is commonly poor, but corticosteroid therapy usually produces a worthwhile improvement. In the 17 cases of this series, which included 7 cases of the shoulder-hand syndrome, good to excellent results were obtained in 12 cases. Complications were uncommon.
