Abstract
Where 2 successive catches, c1 and c2 are taken with the same effort from a population, an estimate of the size of the population, fit, is given by n = c1 2/(c1[long dash]C2), with a variance var[n] = [c12 c22 (c1+C2)]/(c1[long dash]c2)4. Estimates from more than 2 successive catches, from single catches and of mortality rates are discussed and formulae given. Simple mark-recapture experiments can be combined with repeated catch experiments. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
