Abstract
The triaxial test has been widely accepted for design problems and for research in soil mechanics since it was improved and popularized in the forties. There are many sound reasons for its wide popularity including, of course, the fact that numerous important structures were designed and stand securely after many years, their construction based on soil strength data obtained from the triaxial test. Keywords
